To contribute to sustainable development through research, innovation, entrepreneurship, and trade across Sub-Saharan Africa. We envision a future where Sub-Saharan African communities are empowered by locally driven solutions—where scientific research informs practical development outcomes, innovation and entrepreneurship create sustainable economic opportunities, and global trade generates national income. We see a world of truly equal partnerships, where impact is measured through evidence-based approaches and development is driven by local stakeholders partnering with international allies, not external agendas.
Mission 2026
Action10 drives sustainable development across Sub-Saharan Africa through research, innovation, entrepreneurship, and trade. We empower communities with locally driven solutions—where scientific research informs practical outcomes, innovation and entrepreneurship create economic opportunities, and global trade generates national income. Local stakeholders lead development in partnership with international allies, not external agendas.
Action10 connects partners for mutual benefit. We work with researchers, the private sector, policymakers, and development institutions worldwide to create equal partnerships that drive growth and measure impact through evidence-based approaches.
Action10 has developed an integrated system that empowers collaboration through our evidence-based ROPE framework, which establishes measurable quality standards across all initiatives. We generate capital which is given out as concessional loans to local entrepreneurs by our Country Branches. We create value for Sub-Saharan African communities and international partners through fair exchange, shared prosperity, and sustainable economic growth.
The Development Challenge in Sub-Saharan Africa
Two-thirds of the world’s extreme poor live in sub-Saharan Africa. Population growth outpaces poverty reduction, adding millions more each year. The region is resource-rich but wealth-poor. It holds vast reserves of minerals essential for green energy, 60% of the world’s uncultivated farmland, the highest renewable energy potential globally, and the world’s youngest, fastest-growing population. Yet resources don’t create wealth—systems do. Without strong institutions, infrastructure, human capital development, and fair partnerships, natural abundance becomes a “resource curse” rather than a pathway out of poverty. Traditional aid has not driven the structural transformation needed for sustained poverty reduction. Aid works best as a complement to strong institutions and policies—not as a substitute.
Action10’s Approach: Strategic Management & Equal Partnership
At Action10, we believe the solution isn’t aid—it’s management, strategy, maintenance, and equal partnerships. We work to develop Africa through scientific capacity, solid infrastructure, profitable businesses, sustainable resource management, and value-added production. This creates mutual benefits: health systems, agriculture, safe food and water, financial technology, AI, internet connectivity, supply chains, climate solutions, expanding markets, and shared prosperity for both Africa and Europe.
We bring together scientific research, innovation, business, and trade to create secure collaborative innovation and expanding markets for both continents. Our scientific research collaborations generate locally relevant solutions while strengthening institutional capacity. Our business and trade partnerships enable African enterprises to compete globally through technology transfer and value chain integration. We support local entrepreneurial initiatives—self-owned businesses (SOBs), small-scale growing enterprises (SGBs), medium-scale enterprises (MEs), and private laboratories—to build economic self-sufficiency. Through joint innovation ecosystems, we co-develop renewable energy, agricultural, digital, and other technologies.
Action10 has developed an integrated system that empowers research, innovation, business, and trade across Sub-Saharan African countries. Our approach consists of six cornerstones: i) Our evidence-based ROPE framework sets measurable quality standards across all initiatives. ii) Locally owned Country Branches, the RISE Alliances, run RISE Support Centers, transforming capital into job creation and economic growth through iii) progressive ActionInvest loans. iv) We support academic researchers with scientific capacity strengthening through the CREMA network and v) entrepreneurs, the RISE Members, with business management capacity strengthening. vi) Approved Partners form a trusted network whose proven performance drives transformative socioeconomic development across the region.
